Terms of Service
In short. LingoRead is a reader that translates and explains books with AI. Use of the app is free. New translations spend monthly in-app coins. Coins are not money, have no cash value, are non-refundable, and expire at the end of each month. Upload only books you have the right to use. AI answers can be wrong, so treat them as a study aid, not a certified translation. Payment options may be added later.
1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and LingoRead (“we”, “us”), the operator of the service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 16 years old.
2. The service
LingoRead lets you read books in the language you are learning with a translation beside the text, look up words and phrases, listen to the text, save vocabulary, ask an AI tutor about the page, and write your own texts. Features, the coin allowance and catalogs may change as the service develops; we announce important changes in advance. Payment options may be added later, and these terms will be updated before they apply.
3. Your account
One account per person. Keep your sign-in method secure; what happens under your account is your responsibility until you tell us it was compromised. You may sign in with e-mail, Google or Telegram; those providers’ terms apply to their part.
4. Books and other content
- Catalog books come from public collections (Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, textos.info and others). They are public domain or openly licensed in the collections’ own terms; we show them as published and add translations beside them.
- Your uploads. You may upload only texts you own or are allowed to use for personal study. You keep all rights to them; you give us the permission needed to store, display, translate and read them to you. We remove content on a justified rights-holder request.
- Your writing in the Author mode is yours.
- Sharing. If you share a book or a vocabulary list by link, anyone with the link can see it; share only what you may share.
5. AI output
Translations, explanations, voice and tutor answers are generated by AI models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate for a specific purpose. They are a learning aid, not a certified translation, legal, medical or other professional advice. Check anything you rely on.
6. Fair use
You agree not to: resell or share access, use bots or scripts to bulk-extract translations, circumvent the coin allowance, attack or overload the service, upload malware or unlawful content, or use the tutor to generate content that is illegal or abusive. The monthly coin allowance is per person; we may suspend accounts that plainly exceed personal use.
7. Coins
- Free use. The app is free to use. No card, crypto wallet or other payment is required, and nothing is charged automatically.
- Monthly coins. Each account gets a monthly allowance of in-app coins for new translations and some AI actions. Coins that you do not spend expire at the end of the month. They do not roll over.
- Not money. Coins are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or redeemed for money, and are non-refundable.
- Later. Payment options may be added later. If they are, these terms will say so before anyone is asked to pay.
8. Ending the service
You may delete your account at any time from your profile. Unused coins are not refunded: they are not money and they expire monthly. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning where reasonable. We may discontinue the service with at least 30 days’ notice.
9. Our rights
The LingoRead software, design, name and logo are ours. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not give you any right in the software.
10. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise that it is free of errors or interruptions, or that AI output is correct. Coins are not a payment. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with the service is limited as the law requires for a free service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here reduces the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator is registered, without affecting mandatory consumer protection where you live. Before any formal step, write to us; most questions are settled in a few days.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes and important changes are announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Questions: the developer on Telegram, t.me/imnokk, or the feedback form in the app.
